Last 16 January 2013 saw a major change for the Italian military community in Afghanistan. On that day, Lieutenant General Giorgio Battisti, NRDC-Italy Commander, replaced Major General Federico Bonato as the Italian Senior National Representative in Afghanistan.
In a brief ceremony held today at ISAF Headquarters in Kabul, Italian Army Lieutenant General Giorgio Battisti replaced French Army Lieutenant General Olivier de Bavinchove as International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) HQ Chief of Staff.

Members of 15 different contributing nations came together to commemorate German National Day in Solbiate Olona today, 3rd October 2013.
Colonel Martin Fahlbusch, the German Senior National Representative, opened proceedings by explaining the background to the event, which commemorates the anniversary of German reunification in 1990 when the goal of a united Germany, He also put into context German National Day for the contributing nations at NRDC-ITA.
MEMBERS of fifteen different nations came together in “Ugo Mara” Barracks to commemorate with their Spanish colleagues Columbus’ discovery of the New World on 12th October, 1492.

On the 11th of December, at 6,30 pm, the Mayors of the Olona Valley gathered in the Officer Club of the Ugo Mara barracks to receive the traditional greetings for the coming Christmas season from the Commander of NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA), Lt Gen. Giorgio Battisti, via videoconference from Kabul.
