Solbiate Olona (VA), 5-6 December 2017 - NRDC-ITA hosted a two days eNRF Support Concept Seminar chaired by Support Division Chief Brigadier General Luca Fontana. In this seminar, members from the NATO Support Community coming from both NATO Command and Force Structure, shared outcomes identified at the end of the eNRF 18 - preparation phase, when NRDC-ITA has been validated to play the role of Land Component Command (LCC).
Following the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on 5th December 2017, on 18th April 2018, NRDC-ITA welcomed a delegation of about 50 students from "La Cattolica" university led by Prof. Massimo de Leonardis.

Solbiate Olona (VA), 23rd November 2017 - The 14th Annual Plenary Meeting took place yesterday at the “Ugo Mara” barracks, headquarters of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Italy. Conducted under the coordination of the Italian Defence General Staff, the conference was aimed at refining the structure of the NRDC-ITA HQ so to adapt to the emerging crisis and to the requirements of the Alliance in term of combat readiness and deployment capabilities.
Naples, 14th November 2017 – A new Memorandum of Cooperation has just been signed by the NRDC-ITA and “l’Orientale” University of Naples, an event which marks the will of creating favourable condition for the implementation of the Comprehensive Approach.
Ulm (Germany), 8th november 2017. On 6th and 7th November, a team of NRDC-ITA took part at the Multinational Joint HQ (MNJHQ) "Hybrid Warfare Seminar" in Ulm. NATO certifies the NRDC-ITA as a Land Component Command for eNRF 2018
Bellinzago Novarese (Novara), 12 October 2017. NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy has successfully completed its “Brilliant Ledger 2017” exercise and achieved its certification. Brilliant Ledger was a command-post exercise, based on a complex scenario able to test the most delicate aspects of modern crises and conflicts.

Rome, 26th September 2017 - The NRDC-ITA makes a step forward for the implementation of the Comprehensive Approach signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with LUISS (Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli) – independent university in Rome. The agreement has been signed by the Rector of the University, Prof. Paola SEVERINO, Giovanni Lo Storto, the University General Manager, and Maj. Gen. Maurizio RICCÒ, NRDC-ITA Chief of Staff.
Solbiate Olona(VA), 15th September 2017 - The Combat Readiness Evaluation (CREVAL) phase 1 is now completed. Observers and evaluators from sister and parent headquarters of the NATO Command and Force Structure for a whole week have been revising the NRDC-ITA procedures and manning in order to thoroughly assess the preparation of our HQ to take the responsibility as Land Component Command of the NATO Response Force, a role to be covered starting from January 2018.

Solbiate Olona (VA), 31st August 2017 - The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy hosted the Mission Rehearsal Exercise (MRE) of Exercise “Brilliant Ledger 2017”. Milan, 19th July 2017 - The NRDC-ITA and its Civil-Military Cooperation cell (CIMIC) has organised the seminar under the title of “Migrant crisis in the Mediterranean: from the emergency to a new strategy" in order to analyse the humanitarian situation in the Mediterranean both from a military and civilian point of view, as well as its direct and indirect impact on the migration flows and the possible role of NATO and International Organizations, in coping with this delicate issue.

The Exercise BRIGHT ARMOURED 2017 (BRAD 17) is complete. Defined to test interoperability among task forces assigned to Italian Army Armoured “Ariete” Brigade in its role of NATO VJTF(L) (Very high readiness Joint Task Force Land).
Interoperability refers to the ability of different military organisations to effectively exercise and conduct joint operations, allowing forces, units or systems to operate together.
A new release of “Everywhere Rapidly”, the NRDC-ITA magazine, is now available.
A second stand-by year as Joint Task Force HQ is about to finish while the NRDC-ITA is preparing for its Combat Readiness evaluation (CREVAL) as Land Component Command of the enhanced NATO Response Force (eNRF), a responsibility to be taken starting from 2018.
Solbiate Olona (VA), 27th June 2017 - Today a Disaster Relief Operations Study Day took place in the premises of the Ugo Mara barracks. Successful disaster relief missions are characterised by the ability of professionals to cope with time pressure, high uncertainty and unusual restrictions. The event has been designed as an introduction to the coordination and management of humanitarian aid and emergency response logistics.

Kaunas (Lithuania) – 22 May 2017. The "NATO Steadfast Cobalt 2017" exercise enters its most demanding phase. Run by 50 servicepersons from the J6 of the NRDC-Italy (NATO's Rapid Deployable Corps-Italy) and the 1st Italian Signal Regiment, this exercise involves soldiers from 35 units of the NATO Force Structure and from 25 Alliance nations.

Solbiate Olona (VA), 13th May 2017 - A new and more inclusive edition of the Basic Life Support-Defibrillation (BLS-D) Course took place at the “Ugo MARA” Barracks. On the request of the Istituto Comprensivo Statale “A. MORO”, 20 teachers from nursery, elementary and middle school of the cities of Solbiate Olona and Gorla Maggiore (VA), have been admitted to this dedicated session of training.
Solbiate Olona, 9th May 2017. The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy hosted the Eagle Eye 2017. This event set the base line for future training activities of the HQ and this year has been focused on the “Crises and NATO role in the Strategic Direction South”. The seminar has brought experts and academics to the “Ugo Mara” barracks for a qualified point of view on the situation on the so called Southern Flank of the Alliance, in other words on the Mediterranean and Middle East area.

This advancedtraining opportunity has been organized by the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) in favor of Officers of the Italian Army and represents a step ahead in their preparation to be integrated as Essential Augmentees of the HQ, or Liaison Officers from its subordinate units.
