Stramilano Race 2015


Solbiate Olona, March 29, 2015. At the ribbon run of the 44th edition of the Stramilano, the annual athletics event which takes place in Milan, NRDC ITA (NATO Rapid Deployment Corps Italy) military personnel participated in the race.
The international nature of the Stramilano embrace the features of the NRDC-ITA; a joint and multinational Command, composed by military personnel coming from 12 allied nations, perfectly integrated and amalgamated to work in crisis and conflict areas anywhere in the world.
The traditional gun salute of the horse Artillery Regiment riding "Voloire" kicked off the race that has animated the streets of Milan. The wide participation of the staff of NRDC-ITA wanted to witness, once again, the importance that physical training has for the military and the special care necessary to maintain and to improve the physical conditions required for the fulfillment institutional tasks.
Athletes of the NRDC-ITA Running Team have shown that both in ten thousand and in the half marathon as the Italian and foreign military command of Solbiate are able to manage successfully commitments with the training sessions.
NRDC ITA is particularly honored to have won the award also this year, for the biggest military group of athletes in the race registration. The winner cup, got from General Joseph Poccia, Commander of the Support Brigade HQ NRDC-ITA, is dedicated to the memory of Captain Massimo Ficuciello Italian Army, fallen in the line of duty in Nasiriyah. The first of the military group First Corporal Rocco GENEVA 1st Signal Regiment of Milan crossed the finish line with a score of 38 minutes and 33 seconds, winning the cup dedicated to Captain Riccardo Bucci Italian Army, who died in a car accident in Herat , Afghanistan , in 2011
Join this event  is considered every year a fundamental event for the "Ugo Mara soldiers" a reality fully integrated and active in the social fabric that represent a resource of the territory.
NRDC-ITA personnel will be present at the next edition, increasing enthusiasm and participation!
