As part of essential preparations for the upcoming Exercise Steadfast Jackal 2021, military leaders and staff personnel from across the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy and affiliated units attended Key Leader Training (KLT) and Academics at Ugo Mara Barracks.

The activity was carried out virtually, as a pandemic contingency, with briefings presented by Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger and Joint Force Command in Naples.

Military personnel from subordinated and supporting units traveled to Ugo Mara Barracks to attend Crisis Response Planning (CRP). During the CRP the Joint Operational Planning Group analyse the mission received and develop possible courses of actions to address an evolving situation of crisis. All of this in view of the execution phase of the key exercise that starts next and occurs in multiple locations.

The event tested the vertical integration between the Joint Task Force Operational level and the Land Tactical element (LTE). Eagle Joker represented a useful opportunity for the multinational staff to prepare for the upcoming exercise and to familiarize staff members with future exercise events.

The Steadfast Jackal 2021 included over 500 military personnel, multinational professionals from 18 Nation. Participants offered their professional capabilities from JFC-NAPLES, The JWC, as EXCON, the AIRCOM (Air Command), the French JFAC (Joint Force Air Command), the German SOCC (Special Operations Component Command), and the Italian Vittorio Veneto Division, as framework of the Italian tactical units.
