FRANCE JOINS HQ NRDC-ITA

SOLBIATE OLONA (VA), 21 May 07. NRDC-IT welcomes the first officer to form part the new French Contingent. The first officer of the most recent nation to join HQ NRDC-IT took up his post today.

Lieutenant Colonel Jean Pierre Relave of the French Army was welcomed by the Commander, Lieutenant General Del Vecchio, at a special flag-raising ceremony.

Colonel Relave is the first of 4 French officers and 1 NCO who will arrive over the coming months, after France was recently ratified as a new contributing nation.

During the ceremony attended by all members of the HQ, General Del Vecchio talked of France’s significant contribution to NATO.

This is an important day for our Headquarters as this day marks another significant event for NRDC-IT. We are here to welcome France as a contributing nation and Lieutenant Colonel Relave as the basis for the French community here he went on to say.

This latest addition to the NRDC-IT family brings the total of contributing nations to 15.
