SOLBIATE OLONA (VA), 21 Jan 08. HQ NRDC-ITA hosts a visit by the Commander of the NATO Deployable Corps – Greece (NRDC-GRC), at its Solbiate Olona base today.
The visit was arranged in order to provide the distinguished guest, Lieutenant General Efstathios Stratakos, with an overview of NRDC-ITA’s organisation and capabilities.
The day began with introductions to members of the HQ’s Command Group and Senior National Representatives, before an office call with NRDC-ITA’s Commander, Lieutenant General Giuseppe E. Gay.
After signing the Visitors’ Book, the guest received key briefings on HQ NRDC-ITA’s organisation, equipment, infrastructure and capabilities. Time was also spent focusing on the HQ’s approach to Effects Based Operations.
General Stratakos then met members of HQ NRDC-ITA’s Greek Contingent, before visiting a static display of the Support Brigade’s equipment in the main barracks area.
With the main business of the visit concluded, General Stratakos was able to look forward to meeting more key personnel over a buffet lunch in Ugo Mara Barracks’ Officers’ Club.
The visitor then moved on to the Palazzo Cusani in Milan, where a dinner in his and Mrs Stratakos’ honour is to be hosted by the Lieutenant General Gay and his senior staff tonight.
