SOLBIATE OLONA (VA) , 5 Sept 12. - NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy is conducting this week exercise Eagle Focus 1 to raise situational awareness for NRDC-ITA personnel earmarked to be deployed to NATO's largest ever mission - International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) Hqs early next year.

Eagle Focus 1 is a comprehensive training event that started on Monday September 3rd and will end Friday 7th. During the week, the attendees are taking advantage of this unique opportunity to receive a full immersion into different aspects of the Afghan territory, culture, political and economic.

Furthermore, subject matter experts with first-hand experience of the Afghan theater of operation are providing briefing on topics of vital importance, such as Civil-Military co-operation, gender awareness, strategic communications and the ongoing process of transition, as NATO and the Government of Afganistan agreed at the Lisbon Summit in November 2010.
