NRDC-ITA HOSTS THE 4TH CHIEFS OF STAFF CONFERENCE, CHAIRED BY CHIEF OF STAFF LAND COMMAND

NRDC-ITA hosted Chiefs of Staff (COS) from the nine NATO Graduated Readiness Force (Land) Headquarters at a conference in Ugo Mara Barracks over the period 9-11 june. The conference, chared by Major General Ugur Tarçın,the Land Command COS, provided a valuable opportunity for the COS s to discuss a variety of common issues that are pertinent to the requirements relating to the implementation of new structures and concepts. This opportunity was enthusiastically taken by all attendees at the conference, and a great deal of information sharing and understanding of experiences amongst NATO Land Forces HQ community took place. Additionally the conference allowed the COSs to clarify the issues that currently affect their HQ and to trigger discussion that has initiated the development of work that will ultimately lead to workable and sustainable solutions. These solutions will lead in the near future to ensuring the resourcing of the Readiness action Plan, assurance mesures whilst tackling the challenges of effective interoperability between NATO Nations. The Conference considered on-going to develop mutual training support opportunities, enhance the effective Command and Control of NATO Land Forces by supporting the Land Component Commander in the decision making process and improve interoperability and information exchange that affect the Land Component Commands. Major General Maurizio Boni, Chief of Staff of NRDC-ITA who hosted the Conference said: "This conference has been a huge success. Each of the Land Graduated Readiness Forces HQ are in a better position to move ahead with the challenges that they currently face".
