On 2 February, United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM) Commander General David Rodriguez and his staff hosted a visit with NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy Commander LTG Riccardo Marchiò and some of his key staff members. This was the first ever visit to USAFRICOM by a NATO military HQ. NRDC-ITA used this as part of its horizon scanning efforts of the Southern Flank while it remains on standby as a Joint Task Force for NATO. The visit included operational and planning level roundtables and allowed each organization to learn more about one another and how they could collaborate further on issues of concern in North Africa."
