Implementing the Comprehensive Approach

Rome, 26th September 2017 - The NRDC-ITA makes a step forward for the implementation of the Comprehensive Approach signing a Memorandum of Cooperation with LUISS (Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli) – independent university in Rome. The agreement has been signed by the Rector of the University, Prof. Paola SEVERINO, Giovanni Lo Storto, the University General Manager, and Maj. Gen. Maurizio RICCÒ, NRDC-ITA Chief of Staff.

The Memorandum ensure the participation of selected students of LUISS to the development of analysis within the Knowledge Development (KD) team, which enables the understanding of complex dynamics to support the Commander with a robust set of information for a careful decision. LUISS’ students will be working together with Subject Matter Experts and analysts to provide an insight of the Political, Economic, Social, Infrastructural domains and with respect to the Information environment related to crisis response exercise scenarios so they will be putting their knowledge into practice with NRDC-ITA staff.

2010 NATO Strategic Concept identified among other measures, as a plus for an effective crisis management, to actively engage with non-military entities, for the coherence of the overall effort. In this view, academic institutions are able to contribute to consisting planning and execution of any crisis response operation.
