Solbiate Olona (VA), 19th October 2017 – The NRDC-ITA Spanish contingent celebrated today, at the Ugo Mara barracks, “la Fiesta Nacional”, the Spanish national day and Day of the Armed Forces. In the presence of the Deputy Commander, Major General Sir Edward Alexander Smyth-Osbourne and the Consul General of Spain in Milan, Mr. Antonio Cosano Pérez, representatives from the thirteen contributing Nations gathered together to celebrate the “Encounter of Two Worlds”.

Colonel Angel Miguel SANTAMARIA SANCHEZ, Spanish senior representative, in his speech pointed out as “the 12th October symbolizes a threshold of history in which Spain, nearing of a process of State-building with the integration of the kingdoms of Spain in a same monarchy, started a period of linguistic and cultural projection beyond European borders”.

Making mention of “Hispanidad”, Col. Santamaria Sanchez, remembered how the 12th October is a celebration of union, of brotherhood, which also shows a strong relationship with the international community.
