La Thuile, 15 feb. 2018 - Lt. Gen Roberto Perretti and Maj. Gen. Sir Edward Alexander Smyth-Osbourne visited the final session of the Mountain Warfare – Individual Basic Skill Winter Course, organized by the Italian Army Mountain Training Centre in La Thuile (Aosta). The visit was aimed at familiarizing with the Italian Army mountain warfighting capabilities.

The course provided the participants with advanced skills in fighting and surviving technics in a non-permissive mountain environment. The final examination was articulated in different and particularly difficult steps. Among these, a rapid ski mountaineering climbing with changes of direction, obstacles crossings, rapid rock climbing on a prepared path, a final steep slope with off-track downhill.
