The NRDC-ITA hosted a workshop on Air Land Integration

Subject matter experts and interested parties from across NATO travelled to the Ugo Mara Barracks to undertake joint training between the Land and Air components of NATO.

The Air Land Integration Workshop (27 - 30 May), conducted in partnership with NATO’s Deployable Air Command and Control Centre (DACCC), aimed to integrate processes involved in using aircraft, both manned and unmanned, in future land battles. Partnership and cooperation in this vital field is essential which is why specialists travelled from a sister HQ in Poland, as well as DACCC in Poggio Renatico, to undertake this critical training.

The 4-day workshop sees NRDC-ITA continue to lead developments in this joint capability providing the Land expertise within Air Land Integration. Alongside NATO colleagues from the DACCC, there is a commitment to building on the good work of this workshop, with the intention of establishing a new NATO accredited course in the near future.

Having recently completed its turn as NATO Response Force HQ, NRDC-ITA is currently realigning itself as a war fighting corps HQ. The emerging threats of a 21st century battlefield require agile thinking to enable innovative problem solving. By bringing experts in their field together at the Ugo Mara barracks NRDC-ITA continues to position itself at the leading edge of the Alliance, with aim of securing our future and shared values together.
