General Miglietta meets the consuks of the NRDC-ITA contributing countries

General Miglietta meets the consuls of the NRDC-ITA contributing countries.

Milan, 30 January 2020. A meeting between Lieutenant General, Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, and the diplomatic and consular representations of the 18 contributing nations of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy was held in the historical setting of “Cusani” palace in the heart of Milan.

The event was an opportunity to discuss the future commitments of the NATO command, which each of the 18 countries contributes to, through personnel and funding.

The meeting was also an occasion to highlight some of the recent successes of NRDC-ITA, with discussions held on some of last year’s key activities. The General briefed the consuls on the outcomes and achievements of exercise Eagle Meteor in October; a command post exercise that involved over 1800 military personnel spread across sites the length of Italy, from Sicily to Lombardy.

In commitments such as this the combined efforts of the multinational staff that makes up the Corps have been crucial. The importance of the multinational nature of the NATO Command in Milan underlines the cohesion that characterizes the NRDC-ITA community, both during military activities and in the contribution the families of NRDC-ITA staff give to the local community.

Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and local actors is important for NRDC-ITA. It is a vital element in its role as a ready, capable and adaptable organization, contributing to the Alliance and ensuring a safe and stable future environment for all.
